Many people pass this structure several times a day. Most people know what it is and what its used for, but for the people who do not, this is William T. Young Library. It is the biggest library on campus and its history dates back to the mid 70's when William Young, a prominent businessman, started donating money (5 million dollars) to the school for renovations, building, activities, etc. In 1994, the construction of the library began and was dedicated in April of 1998 as the schools most expensive project on campus totaling out to 58 million dollars. Overall this is a very important and elaborate building on the campus of UKY and is greatly appreciated by all students and staff on campus in Lexington.

Davin,
ReplyDeleteYour post provides some decent general information on the structure, but lacks a clear citation. Also, raising more questions about the space and its meaning for people on campus and in the community would be good to see. Finally, the post itself is troublingly brief meaning you had ample space to explore the structure in more detail and depth.
