Counseling centers on college campuses serve students in many ways. The counseling centers search for various ways to serve its students. They send out a survey in order to create unique help-seeking styles for specific college student populations. Sometimes traditional counseling styles are too conventional and do not serve the needs of its students. The programs offered at the UK Counseling Center are alternative approaches in regards to psycho educational programs. In a university setting many stressful situations occur in which students do not know how to cope. Methods such as consultation, workshops, and presentations are ways students can learn to handle certain situations when transferring into college life. Another thing needed in order to serve its students to its full potential is raising awareness of UK counseling services. Another way UK Counseling Center serves its students is through national personality testing and assessments in order to target the right kind of counseling to your personal needs. Raising awareness of the counseling center is the one thing needed to make it as efficient as possible. Not many people on campus know about the facility, so in order to improve the service of the counseling center we need to make an effort to raise awareness for such a valuable location.
